Never Thought I'd Have To....

Protect the garden from the rain!  We've had SO MUCH rain here lately.  The garden, which started out looking nice (and gave me 12 quarts of green beans for the winter!), ended up DROWNED and ROTTED.  We are breaking records with our rainfall amounts!

After so many bad thunderstorms, Caitlin and I took a tractor ride around the property to see how the fence was doing and make sure there weren't any trees down on it.  For those of you desiring a 'farm experience', please email me and let me know when you are available to repair the fence (including the creek crossing!).  We came across this downed tree in the back pasture.  Isn't nature wonderfully beautiful?

Happy Independence Day!

I thank God for my life
And for the stars and stripes
May freedom forever fly, let it ring.
Salute the ones who died
The ones that give their lives so we don't have to sacrifice
All the things we love ~~~~ Zac Brown, Wyatt Durrette

Riding to Church

When Keenan got home from his mission, he wanted to buy a Harley Davidson as his transportation. (photo bomb courtesy of the duck - he thinks every time one of us is outside it is for the purpose of giving him bread!)

Ignore the dusty/dirty windshield (impossible to keep clean with our dirt driveway!).  Tim and Keenan rode together to church last Sunday.  So cool to see the suits!

Kirsten's Fishy Art

Kirsten's drawing of a fish was chosen by the art teacher at school to be displayed in the local mall!  Great job Kirsten!
