Lucky!

We were so darn lucky the other day when a tree cracked in half and fell outside during a rain storm! The funny thing was that it wasn't actually that windy, it was just raining REALLY hard. The tree, which has looked 'off' (half dead and droopy) to me for a while, is right next to the woodshed out back. When I used to have time, there was a very pretty flower bed under it with some roses, sedum, hostas and columbine. Then the tree started dropping branches and the poison ivy moved in too and I had 2 more babies and we started the addition and I just couldn't keep up.
Anyway, when the tree fell, it missed the woodshed AND the carport and fell right in between the two. So basically we just had a bunch of firewood and no damage! How awesome is that??

I know exactly what you mean! We had a big sweet gum tree break like that in early fall. It didn't fall on anything, just broke and layed down.
We also are using it for firewood now.

On the question about the marbles in the water for the baby chicks.
We put marbles in for the first few days(3-5) because the very little ones can drown if they climb over in the water.Especially the bantams.
The yellow water is vitamins/electrolytes. You can usually buy them at the local feed/seed stores.
I hope that helped some.
Thank for the visit and comment
Have a great day.
Pam
