How we Pranked the Boys!

We got them good!!

Last night, we had dinner over at our friends' house. While we were sitting on the deck, the boys saw a van go by that looked 'exactly' like ours. Same color, roof rack, mud and all. They SWORE that it was our van and that we should go home and check.

When it was time to go home, the boys decided to walk (it's not very far - like 2 miles maybe). Tim, the girls and I were standing there talking to our friends and watching the boys walk down the road. Tim said that it would be funny to hurry home and hide the van and let the boys think that someone did steal it! We hurried home and did just that. Tim parked the van behind the house and when the boys got home we told them that the police were on the way so we could file a claim. They called several of their friends and told them to watch for a van that looked like ours. Tim told them to go downstairs and make sure nothing else was stolen. One of the boys saw the van and back and they all ran out - here's the really funny part - they opened the doors to make sure nothing was stolen and one of them said "don't touch the steering wheel; there could be fingerprints on it." Tim and I started laughing - we just couldn't help it. The boys caught on that they were being pranked and were mad at first and then started laughing too. One of them texted his friend and said "pranked by the rents - the van wasn't stolen". Those poor boys - ending up with us as their parents!

Some Stuff from Kyle

March 30th, 2010 - anyway my companion and i walked to the temple last night. all 20 miles!! no one could give us a ride so we walked. and we haven't missed a tuesday this transfer except for the first one! we are probably going to get transfer calls today at about 9 tonight. so i'll let you know.

April 6th, 2010 - yes i got transferred. i am in meridian south right now. it is a cool place. i just met a less active member who served their mission in the branch that we lived in, in PA. she is a way less active return sister missionary now. so now i know the reason that i am in meridian.

April 21st, 2010 - sorry i can't email long i have been really busy. if you couldn't tell. so we are going to try to email next week. i have got to run and do a baptism interview for sis smith. she is getting baptised on saturday!!

May 25th, 2010 - i sent a box your way of stuff that i would like to save for me when i get home, so don't let anybody wear my things please, especially my red bull shirt!!!!!! i have an awesome companion. Elder Chastain. he is from Georgia and is going home in Aug. he was my zone leader in my last area.

anyway we have a lot of people that are finally ready for baptism. when i came into the area nobody was progressing and now they are all ready to be dunked. so i am working on that.

I cut and pasted some of his emails and didn't change anything so that you can 'hear' Kyle.

These Girls!

Sometimes, these 2 drive me absolutely crazy! They have such different personalities! Hayleigh is very creative, loves to make things and come up with games to play; Kirsten is very busy, loves to play Wii and run around and get dirty. Hayleigh has to be around people - talking with them and making them see what she is doing; Kirsten can be by herself and play happily for hours in her own little world. Hayleigh likes being the boss; Kirsten doesn't like being bossed. They don't play very well together; they can't stand being apart.

I wonder what the summer will bring?

Happy Birthday Ethan! A senior, mother's day gifts and GOTR..

Hayleigh ran the end-of-this-season Girls on the Run 5K on Saturday. The weather was okay - it was kind of hot and humid, so we were glad that the race was at 9AM! Tyler was her 'sole'mate this time around and they made great time - they ran it in the 29 minute range!

I took some pictures of Keenan this past weekend - kind of a senior picture photo shoot. Nothing like being on a zero dollar budget and waiting til the LAST minute!! But they turned out nice.....(and he looks so darn happy about being a senior too!).

Ethan turned 15 yesterday! We had chocolate covered strawberries as his birthday dessert - yum! The strawberries are fantastic this year - I've already bought about 6 gallons!

A sweet sister in the area where Kyle is serving had him and his companion make gifts for their mothers for Mother's Day. What a cool idea ----

Just some random stuff

Mother's Day was good - I got to talk with Kyle and then we had our friends (and neighbors!) over for dinner. I got a yummy candle from Alex (pumpkin - my favorite!), 2 cakes baked in flowerpots (one each from Hayleigh and Kirsten), a memory card for my new camera, 2 beautiful red begonias from Scott and Lorenzo (thanks so much!), and a rose from Kyle (so sweet!).

Kirsten was a crack up this past week! She said some funny things! She came upstairs one day with a pacifier in her mouth. Since she is 5 now, this is REALLY not a good thing! I told her that she shouldn't have a pacifier and to take it out of her mouth. She quickly grabbed it and hid it behind a water bottle on the counter and said "I don't know what you are talking about" and calmly walked away.

She was helping Tim outside a couple of days ago by using the big magnet to get all of the metal pieces (screws, nails, staples, etc.) out of the burn piles. She finished one pretty well and Tim told her to start working on the other burn area and she said "I have an idea. How about you do it?". She also told Tim that she "Knows everything. absolutely. everything."

What a stinker!

Tyler and Ethan had the NPC (north piedmont conference) track championships last week. They both did really well! Tyler came in 4th with a time of 52.63 in the 400 - hopefully he'll be competing in regionals! Ethan came in 5th in the 300M hurdles with a time of 45.03 - which is amazing for only doing hurdles 3 times!

Hayleigh has her Girls on the Run 5K this Saturday and Ethan will be turning 15 on Sunday! Ethan recently changed his hairstyle ----

Dallin finished up both his middle school soccer season (whew - Tim is done coaching for awhile!) and his club soccer season. The school team won their last game - only the 2nd win of the season - 1-0 with Dallin getting the assist on the goal! For his club team, they won the state cup play-in game and then lost 2 games and won 1, so his club team won't be going to final 4 this year. Next up will be tryouts for club and then open fields for the fall soccer season at the High School - hopefully Tyler, Ethan and Dallin will all make the team!

Hayleigh and her Artwork

Hayleigh has always been in to art - she loves to draw and create and cut and color.
Last week, she had a drawing displayed in our local mall!
