Part of My Heart Drove Away....

This has got to be in the top 10 of the hardest things I've ever done - I buckled this precious little girl into her carseat even though she was screaming "Granny Hold Me" and sent her on her way to the West with her parents and her beautiful little sister Aela.
I see lots of travel in our future!

Patriot Day

In a New York minute, the whole world changed. This day makes me remember the horrific events that occurred, but it also brings to mind the many ancestors I have that gave everything to be in this country so that they could live under this flag and what it stands for.

Congratulations Keenan and Mallory!

My son Keenan and his bride Mallory were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington DC LDS Temple on Thursday September 4, 2014.

Hornets!

We started noticing one or two hornets a day in the downstairs 'wreck' room. Then we saw three or four a day. Then there were a lot more.Kirsten and I happened to see one fly out of the carport when we were getting home, so we followed it to see where they were getting into the house. YIKES! There was a little gap in the wall, and of course they had found it. Tim sprayed wasp/hornet spray into the hole and within a couple of minutes, the downstairs was swarming!

As most things do with boys, the swatting and killing of the hornets became a game!  If you look closely, you can see cute little Emmy standing by the brown curtain watching the 'boys'.

I had no idea that hornets SMELLED LIKE ROTTING FISH. And so does their nest. Holy Heck that was a smell! Febreeze didn't even come close to 'eliminating' it!

In the aftermath, there are a lot of hornet guts splattered on the walls, floor and ceiling. ugh.
This is about 10 minutes into the 'fun'. I had to leave because of the gag-inducing smell.
